The Town of Occoquan has an immediate opening for a problem-solving and organized part-time, seasonal Maintenance Worker to provide support to our Public Works Department. The ideal candidate will be excited to work outdoors in a collaborative, team environment in small town government.

Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker will perform highly professional maintenance work for the Town of Occoquan. This is a newly created position that reports to the Deputy Town Manager and will work with the Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

High school diploma or GED certificate required. Must be at least 18 years old. One to two years of related experience required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Salary: $25.00-28.00/hour ($55-60k/year)

The Town of Occoquan has an opening for an experienced and qualified Police Officer to perform non-supervisory general duty police work involving the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances, as well as community policing.

Candidates must be current Virginia DCJS certified law enforcement officers. Non-certified applicants will not be considered.  

Candidates must meet the minimum employment criteria set forth in §15.2-1705 of the Code of Virginia and meet the following minimum requirements: (1) Must be 21 years of age; (2) Must be a high school graduate or equivalent; (3) Must be a U.S. citizen; (4) Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license with a good driving record; (5) Must pass a background investigation with no felony or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude or domestic violence; and (6) Be in good physical condition.

Applicants must successfully complete oral interviews, background investigation, drug screen, and may be required to complete a medical examination, polygraph, and/or psychological evaluation as required by the Town.

The Occoquan Police Department is seeking applicants for a part-time position as a certified Police Officer. Community oriented officers are a must.  Candidates must be current Virginia DCJS certified law enforcement officers. Non-certified applicants will not be considered.  Part-time officers work 8-hour shifts.  Starting hourly rates range between $23-25/hour.

Salary: This is an uncompensated volunteer position.

Hours: At least four events per year.

Current DCJS certification as a Law Enforcement Officer Required.

The Auxiliary Police Officer performs general police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work in this position may consist of routine patrol, traffic control duties, and/or special event details. The Auxiliary Police Officer reports directly to the Chief of Police or other supervisory officer as may be designated.
