The Town of Occoquan and the VFW Post 7916 have partnered to bring the Military Tribute Program to the Town of Occoquan. The program aims to honor veterans and active duty military members by displaying banners that feature service members throughout Town. Families, businesses, and individuals are able to sponsor banners and choose a special U.S. veteran or active duty service member to honor. The banners are displayed from Memorial Day to Veterans Day along the sidewalks of the Historic District and the sponsoring families receive the banner as a special keepsake at the end of the display period. This is an annual program, with new opportunities for sponsorships each year.
