The Town of Occoquan is seeking an experienced and proficient leader to serve as its next Town Clerk. The Town is seeking a candidate who is highly self-motivated, organized and customer-service oriented. The ideal candidate is public service-oriented and committed to serving the Occoquan community; is flexible in managing a wide-range of challenges and tasks; and is comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.  Under general supervision, the Town Clerk performs highly responsible administrative and paraprofessional work in the coordination of the daily operations of the Town of Occoquan.  No previous government experience required.

Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field supplemented by three years of responsible professional work experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience with document management and excellent writing skills preferred. Experience in local government a plus, but not required.

First Candidate Review/Interviews: Position is open until filled; interviews will be scheduled on a rolling basis.

Salary: This is an uncompensated volunteer position.

The Auxiliary Police Officer performs general police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work in this position may consist of routine patrol, traffic control duties, and/or special event details. The Auxiliary Police Officer reports directly to the Chief of Police or other supervisory officer as may be designated.
