Get ready for a scary, spooky good time during Occoquan’s Spirits & Spirits!
For the adults and older kids, we have a Trivia Night and a Haunted Maze. For families and kids, there’s a Halloween movie and a costume parade. Not to mention, there’s loads of opportunities to vote for the best decorations, jack-o-lanterns, and costumes at your favorite businesses around town! Occoquan can really get into the SPIRIT of things!
Halloween Movie
October 21
Join us in River Mill Park at sundown on Friday night, October 21 for Beetlejuice (PG13)! Tickets available here. Popcorn, candy, and kid & adult beverages will be available for purchase in the park.
Trivia Night
October 28
Show off your smarts in River Mill Park on October 28, 6:30pm start. The theme for this last Trivia Night of the season is Murder & Mystery. Come dressed in costume, and earn bonus points!
Costume Parade & Contest
October 29 at 10am
Costumed kids of all ages are welcome to join in the Occoquan Costume Parade! Line up at the 121 Poplar Alley parking lot and Mayor Porta will lead the parade down Mill Street to River Mill Park, where costume judging will take place. Judging categories include: cutest, scariest, funniest, most original, and family/group. 1st place winners in each costume category will be awarded $25 Occoquan gift cards.
There is no fee to participate. This event is open to everyone!
Haunted Maze & Spirit Garden
October 29 from 5-10pm
Come prepared to be scared! This 35’ by 40’ Haunted Maze will have 15 themed areas with 32 “scare” zones. PG13. $10 admission. DJ dance music, firepits, and special spooky spirits are available at the Dive Bar, just in front of the Haunted Maze! This event is sponsored by Patriots for Disabled Divers.
Free shuttle service will be available Saturday, October 29. Park at the Rt. 123/Old Bridge commuter lot and be taken directly to the Haunted Maze and Spirit Garden!
Vote & Win! Passport Contest
October 29-30
Stroll through town and vote for the best decorations, costumes and jack-o-lanterns at your favorite businesses! Cast your vote and be entered to win gift cards to use around Occoquan.
Ghost Tours
October 28-30 at 7pm
In Occoquan, we live and work along side our ghosts. Almost every home, pub, or business has at least one non-living resident that resides within. Take a haunted pub crawl (adults 21+) or tour. See occoquanspirits.com for updates.
