The Commonwealth of Virginia recently issued new COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions that limit public gatherings. These restrictions directly impact many of the Town’s previously planned holiday events. Some are of a type that we simply do not believe can be held in a manner consistent with the public health and welfare and have been cancelled. Others can be reevaluated and restructured to accommodate state guidelines. We will continue to enforce social distancing and mask-wearing protocols on any Town-sponsored events.
The health and well-being of our residents, patrons and businesses and local community is paramount. The Town of Occoquan will continue to closely monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health and government authorities to guide decisions about Town events.
Thank you.
