The Occoquan Police Department (OPD) provides public safety for the Town of Occoquan, as well as the 17 acres of land outside the corporate town limits on Tanyard Hill Road.
MISSION
The mission of the Occoquan Police Department is to: protect the lives and property of our residents, visitors, and businesses; to reduce the incidence and fear of crime; and to enhance the public safety of our historic waterfront community. To that end, we will hire and maintain a professional staff who through education, mentoring, and community policing will maintain a supportive partnership between our community and this Department. We will respect the rights and dignity of all people and always remain approachable and professional.

Accident Reports
Occoquan Police Department reports all reportable vehicle crashes to the Commonwealth of Virginia, which is recorded in the Traffic Records Electronic Data System commonly known as TREDS. This system is managed by the Virginia Highway Safety Office.
Once the reportable crash report (FR300P) has been reviewed and approved by our department, it is submitted to the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV maintains the official record of all reportable crashes occurring within the Commonwealth and is responsible for the dissemination of these reports.
