The Town of Occoquan is managed by a council-manager form of government, in which the council is the governing body, elected by the public, and the manager is hired by the council to carry out the policies it establishes.  The Town Council provides legislative direction, while the manager is responsible for day-to-day administrative operations of the town based on the Council’s recommendations.

Occoquan’s Town Council consists of five (5) council members and the Mayor and are each elected for four year terms.  The Mayor and Council members are non-partisan and elected at large during the town election on Elections Day.  The Town Manager is appointed by the Town Council.

Town Hall, located at 314 Mill Street, houses the Town’s operations, including staff offices, Town Council and board and commission meetings and public safety.  In addition, the Town operates a maintenance facility on Commerce Street.  Town Hall is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm.
