OCQ Cares Program
CARES Act Business Support Program
At the October 6, 2020 meeting, Town Council expressed support for using a portion of the Town’s CARES Act funds for the OCQ Cares Program. The program aims to support Occoquan businesses, provide benefit to residents and help the overall economy during these challenging times.
About the OCQ Cares Program
Beginning mid-November, each Occoquan household will receive four (4) $25 vouchers for use at participating Occoquan businesses until December 13, 2020. Occoquan businesses may apply here by November 11, 2020. To be a qualified business eligible to participate, you must:
- Be in good standing with the Town, including taxes and permitting;
- Have a current business license with the Town; and
- Currently open for business and operating within the Town of Occoquan.
Residents – Using Your Vouchers
Each Occoquan household will receive through USPS four (4) $25 vouchers to be used at participating Occoquan businesses. Vouchers are valid through December 13, 2020. Vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash and are one-time use; they can only be used to cover, or partially cover, the cost of purchases. They may not be used to pay for a smaller amount and collect change based on the value of the voucher. You may use multiple vouchers in one transaction.
Not going to use your voucher? Vouchers may be used by any member of the household or passed along to a needy neighbor or other Occoquan resident!

Participating Businesses – Redeeming Vouchers
Vouchers will be reimbursed to participating businesses for $25 per voucher turned in, regardless of purchase amount. Participating businesses must date and sign the voucher when accepted and bundle them for redemption. Vouchers may be submitted for reimbursement at Town Hall twice during the duration of the program: December 1, and December 14. Vouchers will not be honored for reimbursement after December 15 – no exceptions. Vouchers will not be reimbursed for businesses who accept vouchers and are not qualified as participating businesses.
Reimbursements will be issued by the Occoquan Merchants Guild utilizing CARES Act funds within 14 days of the request. Submit reimbursement requests, including physical vouchers, at Town Hall, 314 Mill Street, C/O Julie Little, Events and Community Development Director. Businesses do not need to be members of the Guild to participate.
Only Occoquan businesses are eligible to participate; applications will be reviewed and approved by the OCQ Cares Eligibility Panel.
