Celebrating over 40 years, the Artists’ Undertaking cooperative was established in 1977, in what was the old funeral home that was displaced by Hurricane Agnes. Today the gallery offers a place for local artists to showcase and sell their beautiful artwork, such as paintings, drawings, turned wood and wooden boxes, pottery, fused glass, photography, copper, jewelry and fiber.

Our collection, housed in the stone office of the 1789 grain mill, showcases an iron bar from the 1755 iron works. This treasure was named in Virginia’s Top 10 Endangered Artifacts of 2015 by the Virginia Association of Museums. Pictures, artifacts, and documents relate over 250 years of Occoquan history.
