About the Amplified Outdoor Sound Permit

The Town of Occoquan (Town Code §92.10) requires an annual permit to operate sound amplifying equipment outdoors within the Town of Occoquan.  Permits are required for residents and businesses who want to play music, host a band or musician, or have other amplified music or sound on their property.  Amplified sound refers to sound that is ‘plainly audible at 50 feet beyond the real property boundary where the sound originates.’  

Amplified outdoor sound is allowed within the Town of Occoquan between 10:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and between 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

Application and Permit Details

To obtain a permit, please complete and submit the application and a $100 fee to the Town of Occoquan.  All permits are annual and effective for 12 months from the date of issuance.  Permits allow for the use of amplified outdoor sound during the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
